Airman First Class, Krista Hefty knows how lonely it can be to go through the holiday season without family, although she still feels the support of friends and family while stationed for the holidays
Their support is a tremendous help in boosting morale, and that got her thinking about all the children in hospitals during the holidays. She knows being away from home and family can get you down and wanted to make a difference.
Krista has decided to act. She’s reached out across social media for her friends and family to send her teddy bears this Christmas season. Her goal is to get as many teddy bears as possible so she can gift one to each child in the local hospitals when she visits for Christmas. This way each child feels noticed, special, and loved, while letting them know our military can relate to how it feels being away from the comforts of home. Most of their parents spend Christmas money on hospital bills, so this would mean a lot to them as well. Especially coming from our people in uniform!
busybusy is all about assisting our troops and helping sick children. Throughout this season our team is going to send Krista a whole sleuth of bears! (We looked it up, a group of bears is called a sleuth).
We also want to extend Krista’s invitation to you! She doesn’t need money to buy bears, she doesn’t need razor scooters or whatever Pokemon children are into, just teddy bears. They are light, inexpensive, and a really easy way for YOU to do something great this Christmas season!
