Apple and Google maps utilize those pings to identify user locations. busybusy uniquely created their GPS technology to piggyback on the pings that the smartphone is already receiving to collect accurate GPS locations for employees, but only when employees are clocking in/out, taking breaks, or when there’s a significant location change throughout the day, aka breadcrumbing. There is minimal battery drainage since busybusy never grabs a location that a smartphone isn’t already reporting. The location is very accurate because we only gather information from Apple and Google Maps directly.

That being said, if employees are uploading photos from the jobsite, this can increase their data usage. One medium photo (default setting) takes approx. 250 kb of data to upload.
