2024: The Year of Safety with busybusy

At busybusy, 2024 is all about safety. Preventing injuries is our top priority, and we believe safety inspections are the key to achieving that. Regular inspections help reduce liabilities, prevent job site delays, and even lower insurance premiums.

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new Safety Inspection Feature.

Revolutionizing Your Safety Inspections

If you’re still using paper for inspections, busybusy will completely transform your process.  If you’re not conducting inspections yet, we make it incredibly easy to start. You can create custom checklists from scratch or import industry-standard ones directly from our library. Let’s take a closer look at both options.

Flexibility Meets Functionality

Our Safety Inspection Feature is designed to be flexible. You can:

  • Create custom checklists tailored to your specific needs. Name your checklist, add categories, and create personalized inspection questions within each category. You can even include recommended corrective actions for each question.
  • Keep it simple or go all out—whether it’s a quick four-question checklist or a detailed inspection with 20 categories, busybusy’s “Create” button gives you the power to make it your own.

Or, if you’d rather start with a proven template, you can import pre-built checklists from our library. We offer forms like the standard OSHA 1926 and Cal OSHA checklists, which you can either use as-is or customize further. These checklists even come with built-in OSHA-based recommendations.

Assigning Inspections Made Easy

Once you’ve created or imported your safety checklists, assigning them to employees is a breeze. Set up inspections for specific days and projects, and add descriptions if needed. Employees can manage and complete these inspections right from the mobile app.

Forgetful employees? Not a problem! busybusy includes a reminder feature that sends alerts on inspection day, ensuring that no one misses their tasks. You can even schedule recurring inspections—daily, weekly, monthly, or annually—and they’ll automatically repeat, reducing your workload.

Real-Time Feedback and Follow-Up

Once an inspection is submitted, it’s vital to address any issues promptly. With busybusy, you can:

  • Notify employees when an inspection is completed, or only when it scores below a certain threshold. This ensures that problematic inspections are swiftly addressed by the right people.

On-the-Go Inspections in the Field

Out in the field, employees can easily find and complete their assigned inspections using their phones. They can mark questions with a simple yes or no, add detailed notes, and upload photos—because we all know that pictures provide invaluable context.

If something fails, employees can assign severity ratings to prioritize follow-up actions. Recommended corrective actions appear at the tap of a button, guiding employees on the best course of action.

Analyzing Inspections Has Never Been Simpler

Back on the web, busybusy automatically generates an easy-to-read scorecard for each submitted inspection. This breakdown includes issue severity and an overall inspection score, making it easier than ever to identify hazards without digging through piles of paperwork.

Safety Features and Beyond

If you’re looking for a safety inspection process that’s comprehensive, easy to use, and flexible, give our new inspection feature a try today! It’s part of busybusy’s growing Safety Module, which already includes incidents, toolbox talks, and soon-to-be-released features like observations, JSAs, and safety trainings.

Best of all, the entire Safety Module is completely free to use until October! Just click the safety link in the announcement banner or reach out to our support team, and we’ll turn it on for you. In October, we’ll check in to see how it’s working for you. If it’s a success, you can opt to keep it for a fee. If not, we’ll turn it off at no cost to you.

Special Update for California Companies: OSHA 5020 Export

We’ve also added a small but powerful update to help our California users stay compliant. You can now export a complete OSHA 5020 form using the injury data from an incident report. Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to Incident Reports.
  2. Click the OSHA Forms tab.
  3. Select Export and choose OSHA 5020.
  4. Pick the specific incident, and busybusy will automatically populate the required fields.

Once you’ve filled out any remaining information, simply export the PDF and your form is ready to submit! Whether it’s the new OSHA 5020 form or the required OSHA 300 and 301 forms, busybusy makes generating these reports instant and hassle-free.

Stay Busy, Stay Safe
